1. What is Siyavula and how do I use it?

Siyavula Practice is an online Maths and Physical Sciences practice service for high school learners. The program provides learners with virtually unlimited questions that become progressively more difficult as correct answers are given. Because Siyavula’s practice adapts to the needs of the person practising by changing the difficulty and sequencing of questions, learners can progress at their own pace. They receive immediate feedback on the questions they do, with step-by-step solutions, and errors and misconceptions are corrected in real time.

Siyavula Practice can be used by anyone with a computer, tablet or mobile phone (both smart and feature phones are supported) and an internet connection.

2. What is the discount for Standard Bank customers?

Standard Bank customers will receive an ongoing 50% discount on any subscription to Siyavula practice, if the parent OR learner holds one of the following valid bank accounts:

  • (Sum)1 or Student Achiever account; or
  • Access or Elite, Prestige or Professional Banking account; or
  • Private Banking or Signature account

3. Do I need to sign up to buy?

Yes, you’ll need to create an account before you can access Siyavula.

4. Can I try Siyavula before I buy?

Yes, once you have created an account, you will have free access for seven days to try it out.

5. Can I register more than one child at a time?

No, each child needs to have a separate account. We suggest that you start by creating an account for your first child, and making payment. New accounts can be created after this for any additional children you’d like to sign up to Siyavula.

6. I am a Standard Bank customer. Why am I not receiving a discount?

The discount is available to a parent OR learner who holds one of the following valid bank accounts:

  • (Sum)1 or Student Achiever account; or
  • Access or Elite, Prestige or Professional Banking account; or
  • Private Banking or Signature account.

7. Can I cancel / delete the account?

Yes, if you would like to delete the account, select MY ACCOUNT when you are logged in to Siyavula. You will find this in the main menu. At the bottom of the My Account page is the option to delete the account.
